Yesterday I received both the Edelstein Forms 4.5 tutorial and the one Oracle sent with the install.

I am finding the Edelstein book more comprehensive than the one from Oracle. Both desperately need an indexes, but Edelstein at least has an excellent TOC. (Just alphabetize it Steve, stick it in the back, and then I'll be satisfied.)

Both tutorials are geared for the novice forms developer. Edelstein gives pointers along the way that new GUI developers would find useful as well. (Yeah it MATTERS if you click or double-click!)

So my recommedation: You want both books if you need to learn 4.5 in a hurry, especially if you have little or no Forms 4.0 experience.

Oracle's book costs 2 packages of paper and probably an entire printer cartridge. On our it's file a32504_1.obd in the forms45\doc directory. It is only readable using Oracle Book (I know...I know...) but we printed it out with little trouble.

The Edelstein book is costs around $35 and is available at: Relational Business Systems
724 W 60th St.
NYC 10023 I e-mailed him my credit card number and received the book 3.5 days later (NY to CA.)

Hope someone finds this useful,
