Re: Synonym or Not Synonym

The performance impact is insignificant (in my experience). You may, however, experience significant additional memory requirements, due to Oracle's dependency management function. I believe their is an excellent discussion on the use of synonyms in the current Database Programming and Design magazine (related to vldb's).
