different versions of distributed DBs

We have a distributed Oracle DB architecture in which a DB at one site is 7.2.3 and at another site is 7.1.6. These two DB's linked by SQL*NET 2.
Is the difference in versions going to cause a problem when one DB calls a stored procedure on the other DB?
