If you are trying to use the rectangle tool in Forms 4.5, you must draw your rectangle, then set the OUTLINE color to be any color (for example black). Then FORMAT BEVEL - choose one. The BACKGROUND color may also be set to your choice. You may also need to ARRANGE -SEND TO BACK so that the rectangle is not hiding boiler-plate text.
For some reason, if you do not set an OUTLINE color, the bevel never appears (at least this is how it works for me ;) ).
