We loaded Developer/2000 on a client PC. I only asked to install
Forms but the installed automatically installed several things including
support files which I assume the installer knew Forms required. Seemed
like it needed about 56 meg. Coincidentally, when we tried to de-install
some stuff we decided we didn't want and the installer said it needed
to remove stuff that the product we didn't want was dependant on and
wouldn't let us remove the desired product without removing the underlying
support files too. Then we couldn't get Forms to work without de-installing
and re-installing the whole thing again from scratch.
The client wants to install the minimum possible on other client pcs
to run the executable forms. The documentation says that you only need
2 meg for run-time forms. My questions are:
- How much space does it really take to install just runtime Forms?
- Is it even feasible to only install runtime Forms without
installing the whole Forms enchilada (56meg) I installed yesterday?
If it is feasible, how do you do it?
Thanks in advance for taking time to respond.
