From what I gather SAP R/3 is not something you can learn from a book. But sooner or laters books are bound to appear.
Here are a couple which may be of interest to all thirsting
for SAP knowledge. :-)

Here are blurbs about a couple of books.

Using SAP R/3

By Ron Taylor
$99.99 from Que
ISBN 078970689X This book will be the most complete reference on SAP. It covers the advantages that companies will gain from
altering their current business model to SAP. It provides expert techniques and advice for implementing the
individual modules of the SAP system.

The Client/Server Technology of the SAP R/3 System

What is the best way to quickly distribute information company wide? SAP, one of the world's largest fastest
growing software companies has the answer with its R/3 system - a technology that is rapidly being adopted by
the leading Fortune 500 companies. This book is a comprehensive guide to SAP's R/3 system, a set of integrated financial, manufacturing, human resources, sales, and distribution application software. This book
addresses the issues involved in implementing the R/3 system. It provides an overview of the architecture of
R/3, the uses of R/3, application development with R/3, and concludes with a practical discussion on implementing the system.
