Hello everyone,
This is a bit of a technical question, but here goes...
Does anyone know exactly what information Oracle keeps in the rollback segments header blocks?
In the case of the Parallel Server, each instance holds exclusive distributed locks on its own RB segment header blocks; these locks are released for a short time when another instance asks for them.
The question is, how does a transaction on a particular instance know which (other) instances hold RB segment header blocks that are relevant to this transaction?
