East Bay Municipal Utility District is looking for a contractor to work, for a period of several weeks to several months, on development of a number of on-line forms which will provide data-entry/validation and query capabilities for a new application to manage water quality data collected during maintenance of our drinking water distribution system.

Prior to beginning of contract, EBMUD IS personnel will have designed a number of new tables which will be related to other tables already existing in our enterprise Oracle database. Contractor will be expected to create required database objects, develop validation rules, enforce referential integrity rules, and create and test forms and reports, working closely with IS personnel to ensure adherance to standards and integration with the enterprise database.

Desirable candidates will have significant development experience in the Oracle (v7) environment, including knowledge of tables, indexes, views, and constraints, as well as database functions, procedures, and packages. Familiarity with integrated enterprise (in addition to workgroup) databases is a plus, as is an understanding of the principles of entity/relationship modeling.

EBMUD is in the process of converting its Oracle-based applications from an IBM-mainframe SQL*Forms-3.0 environment to a Windows-based, client-server, Oracle forms 4.5 (or Developer/2000) environment. We area also migrating to object-oriented development methods and a unix server. Desirable candidates will have experience in the newer technologies, though experience in the former is also desirable. In addition, experience with conversion of SQL*Forms to a later release using a product such as the Kumaran converter will be an added bonus, as further work is expected in this area.

Work on this project is scheduled to begin approximately May, 1996, and is scheduled to be completed approximately July, 1996.

Interested parties (principals only) are encouraged to send a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) to:
