I took it at the IOUW conference, and passed. The test was comprehensive - it covered DBA topics that I didn't have a lot of experience with. I just never got in that kind of trouble before (but have since). After I got out of the test I hit the books and was rewarded when the brand new disks and controllers that were delivered while I was away at the conference died several times over several days. In one incedent I lost an 8 GB RAID 5 unit when the RAID controller went to heaven. I think the test was worth the trouble and would have paid for it myself if I had to. For those of us who don't have the bucks on our own and don't work for companies that can afford the Oracle Master's Program - this is a good way to formally validate our skills. I know a lot of "DBA's" that get their employers in a lot of trouble because they think that an advanced S/W developer is a DBA. Take the test! Whether you pass or not, you will learn what your weaknesses are and where to improve.

                                      Hope this helps,
                                                  Mike
