Can you define new data types on Oracle's new product? Can you define access methods too? Can you migrate Oracle 7 applications into the new database without disruptions? In other words, is Oracle's product open and extensible from the user's perspective?

If any of those ansers is NO, you may want to check out Universal Server from Informix.
