Q: What is oracle user NAMES?

We just installed oracle 7.2.2 on a RS/6000 (AIX 3.2.5) machine.
We also created a database using the installer. In addition to oracle users,
sys and system, we found a user NAMES. Obviously NAMES is
created by the installer, but we do not know what it is for.
Our guess is that it is
used by Oracle*Names server, but not quite sure, since we do not use
the product. Any one who can shed light on this will be appreciated.
