looking for a alternative reporting tool- help

Does anyone have any suggestions with regard to a report generation tool that can access ORACLE 7.2 databases, (Without using ODBC of course). We also must be able to call it from an ORACLE form.

We are currently wrestling with Oracle reports 2.5, but are constantly having problems due to the amount of memory required to run the development module, not to mention the run time version at our site. We were recommended, unofficially, to beef up our developement workstations to 32 MB of ram, and our production clients to 16MB. This is not a luxury we can entertain right now as we nearing implementation and don't have time to spare.

Any suggestions would be welcome, particilarly with some details if possible.
