I had the same problem on a 7.2.2 DB on Solaris. The solution from Vikram will sure work, but it will not be a good solution in a production environment. After some calls to Oracle Support I got a patch for this problem. There seems to be a bug in the kernel. The bug # are 320356 and 326110, you need to call Oracle yourself to get the patch.
