Hallo ,

is Oracle Forms Version 4.5.6.3.3 unable to show all characters of the fonts

  1. Courier New,
  2. Times New Roman,
  3. Arial

under Windows 3.1.

We create a form module with 6 text items. Every text items have a different font. The fonts properties are set as follow :

1. Courier New,
2. Times New Roman,
3. Arial,
4. Wingdings,
5. Symbol,
6. Script.

Every font have a hight of 20 pt.
The text item with the property font Wingdings,Symbol and Script are displayed with the correct font at runtime. The text item with the property font Courier New,Times New Roman and Arial have the windows default -font and -hight. In the oracle.ini the parameter
NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.EEC8EUROPA3 are set.

If we use the the Character Set WE8ISO8859P1 (set as NLS_LANG parameter by installation of oracle forms in the oracle.ini ) the fonts are displayed at runtime.

We want to use special characters. To do this, we have create a new true type font. But Oracle forms is unable to show this font. We have try different character set as NLS_LANG parameters in the oracle.ini.

Is this a forms problem ? or Is this a Windows problem ?

If you have an idee, please send me a mail at
