Many RAID devices allow you to configure how the stripes are setup. Some even allow you to create drives without parity,etc (RAID 0). This would allow you to place log files, temp, rollbacks on different drives.

That's right. I think you'll really want to create your own non-default database anyway. Then you can place everything where you want. You could also move pieces of the default database (see ALTER DATABASE).

That's true also. You'll have to setup addt'l drive letters then place pieces of oracle on different drives as nec.
