size of INITIAL extent for tables

I am wondering about the effect of having a large value (say 2.5G) for the INITIAL parameter while creating a table. (the table is initially quite large (~2G), and is expected to doulbe its size in about 2 years. Are there any reason against having a large value for INITIAL?
