Check when you are doing the commit. Chances are that information is not in the fields before you do the commit although it may look like the information is there. Try doing two commits in a row and see if you get the same results. If you get the same results then you have a big problem. If after two commits in a row the data is in the state that you wanted, then you have a trigger problem. Also, if are using triggers, check them as well to make sure they fire when you expect them to.
