There are many good books available. Some of them have been mentioned in this newsgroup's postings.

I wrote "Developing Personal Oracle7 Applications" for readers who want to learn SQL - and its use in the Oracle environment. It is also a useful reference for those who are already familiar with SQL but want to learn how to use PL/SQL.

Experimenting with Personal Oracle7 is an excellent way of becoming conversant with Oracle. The book guides the reader on the use of Oracle's Database Administration tools. The Oracle Workgroup/2000 CD is included with the book. On the CD is a trial version of ERwin, an entity-relationship modeling tool, and the SQL scripts discussed in the text.
