[Q] Enormous executable files with Pro*C/C++

Hi,

I just compiled and linked my first Pro*C executable (using Pro*C 2.1 with the C++ option) making use of the following Oracle sample link chain:

-lsql <ORACLE_HOME>/lib/osntab.o -lsqlnet -lora -lsqlnet -lora -lpls
-lnlsrtl3 -lc3v6 -lcore3 -lnlsrtl3 -lcore3
'cat <ORACLE_HOME>/rdbms/lib/sysliblist'

From a <1K program text this produced an executable of 1.6MB (1.2MB stripped). All this on HP-UX.
Gimme a break! What's happening?
