The top PERFORMANCE records on TPC-C are held by Tandem computers K10000 series systems running NonStop SQL. (actually Tandem holds the top two spots)

This has been true for over 18 months!! - Still unbeaten

The PRICE/performance record for TPC-C has changed many times during that period and been held by many different databases and systems.

See http://www.tpc.org/ for the complete TPCC results and http://www.tandem.com/INFOCTR/PDF/BROCHURE/TPCCBNBR.pdf for the Tandem write up and details.

Yes I am biased - I work for Tandem.

By the way - the Tandem numbers were run on the K10000 system. The K200, K2000 and K20000 systems introduced in Jan '95 have better performance and better price/performance (The entry level K204 looks reasonably price competitive in the sub 1,0000 tpm section of the TPC results)
