Hi Martin,

Why are you running NETINIT7.EXE in the first place? Are u using a DOS TSR version of SQL*Net with Windows 16-bit apps?

All NETINITx.EXE does is to reserve below 1MB memory for communication between the DOS SQL*Net TSR and the Windows ORAxWIN.DLL. You would normally experience ORA-3112 errors when these buffers cannot be allocated during a connect because of bug (or limitation) in Windows' memory management (or someone is actually grabbing this memory?). All NETINITx.EXE does is to preallocate the desired # of session buffers and passing these to the appropriate ORAxWIN.DLL. There is no SQL*Net connection established by NETINITx.EXE.

If you are using SQL*Net for Windows DLLs get rid of NETINIT7.EXE. Received on Thu Jan 04 1996 - 00:00:00 CET
