HI Janos,



  This solution of placing USERNAME in the CONFIG.ORA / ORACLE.INI will 
not work against all servers. This is highly dependent on the Listener. 
e.g. none of this works against Windows NT SQL*Net Listeners!!!! SQL*Net 
V2 relies on the presence of AUTHENTICATION adapters to obtain the OS 
UserName.  Setting plaintext parameters like USERNAME in files leaves the 
door open for security breaches (I guess u are already aware of this).
