Dave,

I assume you are on some type of UNIX platform. This may solve your problem.

  1. go to ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin,
  2. login as sys or connect internal,
  3. Run the script titled (catexp.sql). This will take a few minutes and it will not distroy any existing objects.

Next, try your export.
