Hello,

Is anybody familiar with Odesta's livelink tools or technical reviews on the tools?

I have visted the web pages, contacted a salesperson (who insists on playing telephone tag), and received their "pretty" brochure, while my basic technical questions have remained unanswered (for several weeks).

In particular, we are initially interested in the Mac-based versions of the software and in particular the window painter tool, since our primary objective is building an interface to an Oracle 7 database. Oracle Power Objects looks nice, but if the Livelink forms designer is more solid, and allows growth to the document management features than it would look like an attractive investment.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get any help from Odesta in this regard.

Their brochure includes a reprint from Seybold, Report on Publishing Systems (Volume 24, Number 15, April 14, 1995) but it mainly covers the document management tools. In the case of the "builder" (including the painter) it simply states "Odesta claims...".

Has anybody seen any other reviews?
