Hmm. I you could view the demo stuff you must have started the server (remember you have to start the oracle server before you can use the navigator effectively). The only reason I say that is that if the server is not started SQL Plus would have no where to connect because I assume the default connection would be to the local database.
I was able to design objects but not enter any data in. I just went out and bought the SAMS book on PO7. It looks very helpful but I have just started it so can't give a good critique yet.
The thing that pissed me off though was the CD was missing from my copy and when I called the bookstore all the copies they had were missing their CDs. Jerks. :)
If anyone figures out how to add in values to new objects please let the rest of us know. I will post once I get farther into this SAMS book.
