I am running

ORACLE V7.2.2.3.0 for Sun SPARC OS 4.1/4.1.4. Single use
	license.

I have a single program which cannot seem to connect to oracle. The connect string is "/" (automatic log on).

Running "sqlplus /", I'm able to connect.

If I strip out all the procedures except the routine that actually does the sql call, I'm also able to connect.

What internal limit is being exceeded? I'd appreciate any suggestions-- being new to oracle installation procedures.

The call generates the following sqlnet.log file:

Fatal OSN connect error 12223, connecting to:  (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=beq)(PROGRAM=/usr2/oracle/orahome/bin/oracle)( ARGV0=oracleemr)(ARGS='(DESCRIPTION=(LOCAL=YES)(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=beq)))')(DETA CH=NO))(CONNECT_DATA=(CID=(PROGRAM=)(HOST=kirk)(USER=emr))))
