Apparently this is a privilege problem (or I should say, lack of privilege problem). It seems that one of the tables in the Repository -- which stores info. that allows relationships to be displayed on a diagram -- is not accessible to ordinary DS/2000 users. Thus, the relationships are really there, but they don't show on the diagram. The workaround is to GRANT a privilege that is not normally given.
