Hello there,   

   I can remember some time back having the exact problem you mentioned in the same circumstances. We logged a problem with Oracle Support and they gave us no solutions. I can't really remember how we got round it. I think we created a public synonym pointing to the package, and then called the package via that. If this doesn't work get back in touch and i will look back through my project documentation, where i am sure the solution is recorded.
