Help !!!!!! SQL*Net Newbie

i'm using the following:
case 2:
OS = OS/2 v2.11
TCP/IP = IBM TCP/IP v2.0
SQLPlus v3.0.13
Oracle Server v7.0.16
SqlNet v1.1
Host(HC) connected to remote host(PAS01) via WAN (bridge)
when i use "connect h/m", and execute "select * from
user_tables_at_PAS01;", i can't get anything, and Oracle will respond
that it cannot contact the remote host.
i can use various commands like ping, telnet and ftp.
