That is only the 1st part of the install; there are still some more imports, and then finally, the loading of the packages into the repository (this is what takes the longest). I also noticed in your follow-up note that you were worried about the 'objects exported by ..., not you' message. This is not an error, it is strictly an informational message.

After you dismiss the 'Import' dialog box, the install should have continued with the next phase. What exactly happens to your machine after you close the 1st dialog box?

P.S. Do you have the 'install' guide? It mentions that you should create a repository owner, as well as creating some new tablespaces (*not* SYSTEM) to hold the tables and indexes. It would be better (for maintenance reasons) to put the Designer/2000 objects into their own tablespaces (even though some of them *do* go into SYSTEM anyways...).
