OFA is more than a directory structure for multiple Oracle Versions. Rule 3.9/10 of the OFA says (7.2.2 (SNI RM400/600) Oracle for UNIX Performance Tuning Tips, Appendix 1: OFA Rules):

"For each Oracle database on the system, create a directory /u[0-9][0-9]/ORACLE/d, where d is the db_name of the database. Put a file in this directory only if it is a control file, redo log file, or DATA FILE of the Oracle database d."

OFA means: Non admin files are located in /u??/ORACLE/MYDB and admin files are in the directory $ORACLE_BASE/admin/MYDB. OFA is better than you think!
