A snapshot is only useful if the update to the secondary table can be deferred. Snapshots are brought into sync with their master table via a refresh operation, which is normally performed at some specified time interval. During the refresh, all changes made to the master table since the last refresh are applied to the snapshot. Therefore, if you need immediate application of all changes, you should use triggers.
