Exporting Oracle from Data General to PC

Has anyone successfully exported an Oracle v6 database from a Data 
General AOS/VS system to Personal Oracle v7 on a PC?  If so, can you 
help with the error message we are getting: "abnormal end in export 
file when imported"?  Any help, ideas or advice much appreciated.
