What makes Americans so tunnel-visioned ? Don't you all realise that the internet is a world-wide tool - not specifically American ? Every one of the replies has taken for granted that the poster was referring to a US salary in dollars.

I believe that the first poster made a couple of mistakes - he did not specify the job location, nor did he specify the currency. I personally suspect that the 30k referred to is really 30k sterling, not 30k US dollars. 30k in sterling (British pounds), is a reasonable salary in Britain for the skillset requested, depending on location. It actually equates to > $45k US, and there is a significant cost of living difference between the two countries.
