The Oracle7 database itself doesn't run on the AS/400 platform. However, Oracle does provide two gateway products that allow Oracle transactions to read/write AS/400 data. The Oracle Transparent Gateway for DB/400 and the Oracle Transparent Gateway for DRDA allow your Oracle transactions to include data from the AS/400. These products fully support distributed joins and updates including support for two-phase commit.

The Oracle Access Manager for AS/400, which is currently beta, allows your AS/400 based RPG, C, COBOL and interactive SQL sessions to interface with Oracle servers located throughout your enterprise.
