[Q] CDE 1 Production 3 installation

Hi

after having some problems in installing V7.1.4 on Solaris and solved them by applying the help written in this newsgroup (thank you to all of you), I have to install now the CDE1 Production 3 tools. And I was told by Oracle that I must have a sort of client installtion even though everything will be running in the same machine. This means installing, configuring and solving all the problems that migth appear Sql*Net V2.

My question is if someone has done this before and if Sql*Net is really needed?

I find a bit funny that even on a standalone system some network SW has to installed, and I was also told that for the Server Manager it is also the same situation.
