We had a similar problem when we upgraded to Oracle 7.1.3.4. Turned out to be a bug in Oracle. I'd check w/ Oracle. If you need the bug, number, mail me and I'll look it up.

The error occurred when doing a host command. If your host command fails to execute, then this may be the same bug.
