   A good chunk of this is the massive national language character set translation tables from libnlsrtl.a. Oracle7 release 7.2 is supposed to load these tables dynamically if they are needed which would reduce the size of the binary.

   I haven't got 7.2 up yet. If anyone has could they confirm this improvement was actually delivered?
