The fact that they are clearly marked is irrelevant. What is relevant is they increase the volume of the newsgroup such that messages scroll off before I get to read them. I consider that an offensive cancellation of messages. Whether it's due to some misconfigured intermediate machine or ISP, it still happens.

I've missed messages having read the group after 5pm on a Friday and before 6AM on Monday.

I think the volume also causes messages to be lost. For example, I don't think I ever saw the original of:

If I had, I would have made this response to it. I just checked, it isn't on this machine.

The only response I have seen to my post was Gary Gapinski's agreement 22-Aug-1995. There obviously have been others. I wonder what else I have missed?
