These are a few bugs and design problems that I have documented. I will give an update to this list next week.

Reports:

The following reports do not produce the correct information. They both just show the table_names and the Column_names, derivation information is not reported.
  1. Table and Primary Key derivations
  2. Tables, Columns and Foreign Key Derivations

Table Quality Control Reportthe
information overlays the information from one area to another.

ER Diagrammer:

When you modify Entity attributes via the object navigator you have to consolidate your ER diagrams to reflect the changes. This utility is not working properly. It does not update the diagram. Within the ER Diagram, you have to modify the entities attribute property then the change will be reflected in the diagram.

Entity:

All relationships will default to TRANSFERABLE = ‘YES’. This may not be desirable.

Table names are restricted to 27 characters because a journal log file appends '_JL' to each entity name
which may make it exceed 30 characters.

Entity Mapping:

This screen only displays 15 characters of the entity name. This creates problems when trying to
distinguish entities while selecting them to be mapped

Functional Decomposition Diagrammer:

No button to create common functions. You have to create a function then within the function detail window, designate it as a common function.

Common functions do not display its master function on the FD Diagram. You have to click on the function to see the details which will display the master function name.

Default Module Generation:

This utility properly generates modules for functions that are designated as elementary and atomic.

But it also generates modules (of type manual) for functions that are elementary and atomic that have no data associated with them. Why would you want a module of type manual? It also generates modules for functions that have been designated as common. These modules should be deleted.
