Whenever I startup SQL*Plus on a Sun OS 4.1.x system with oracle installed I get a unix complain about getwd at startup and quiting sqlplus.... e.g.

SQL*Plus: Release 3.1.3.4.1 - Production on Sun Aug 6 22:11:02 1995

sh: getwd: can't stat .

Connected to:
Oracle7 Server Release 7.1.3.0.0 - Production Release With the distributed option
PL/SQL Release 2.1.3.0.0 - Production

SQL> quit
Disconnected from Oracle7 Server Release 7.1.3.0.0 - Production Release With the distributed option
PL/SQL Release 2.1.3.0.0 - Production
sh: getwd: can't stat .

What is this trying to tell me? How do I fix it? Do I care?

Any help or comments...
Greatly appreciated!
