SQL*NET V2.0 Hangs on Large SQL

We are trying to convert from SQL*NET V1 to V2 (both for Windows) but now almost any large SQL just hangs. Monitoring the server shows the Oracle connection but the large SQL never makes it into the instance. All apps have worked fine over V1 but our project is being held up trying to convert to V2.
