I have heard various horror staories regarding Oracle stored procedures.
a. They do not scale very well.
b. They potentially cause all kinds of record locking problems.

Some of the literature I have read says that they should be avoided for large systems. Instead, use a TP monitor and keep your sql to the database simple.

Any comments???

regards David

PS I have heard that Oracle push their stored procedures because they are a proprietary language and lock you into Oracle. David Cashmore cashmore_at_actrix.gen.nz Received on Mon Jul 31 1995 - 00:00:00 CEST
