Help! Designer/2000 install

Hello all. I am having a really wierd problem with installing the Designer /2000 repository. Details are :

Designer /2000 v.6.0.6
RDBMS 7.1.6.2.0 on SGI IRIX 5.3
SQL*net TCP/IP

   Client:1.1.9.0.0
   Server:1.2.7.8.1
SQL*Plus 3.1.3.5.5

The install process runs until it tries to build indexes. It dies in ckindx while attempting to build index cdb_property_fields on table cdb_property_fields. The server process on the SGI dies and attempts to dump core, with about a 20% success rate. The error returned is ORA-03113, end-of-file on communication channel.

I had this same problem installing v.6.0.5. Support shipped me the upgrade, hoping that it would solve the problem. It hasn't.

Has anybody seen this before? Is there a known incompatibility that I am running into?
