This looks like corruption in you libcore.a file.

You might try to repair it with ranlib.

I believe the syntax is... ranlib libcore.a

You, of course, want to back up the original one first.

If this doesn't work, you might try reloading from tape (or CD).

Also, you want to consider this: If libcore.a is corrupted, what caused it? You may have a disk or controller going bad.

You may also want to consider getting a new tape.
