exp/imp between heterogeneous platforms in Oracle should work and i have not encountered any problems recently (Sun, HP, Sequent, NCR). on some platforms, the datafiles are actually completely compatible, at least that was the case in v6. I would recommending testing before taking the later approach. Also, Oracle will not support moving datafiles between heterogenous platforms, so bear that in mind.
