vsam transprancy tool not proven?

Recently Oracle announced the VSAM transprancy toolkit, to change VSAM calls into ORACLE calls.
As a consultant to several companies using ORACLE and wanting to migrate from old mainframe to new environments, I would like to know if there are proven cases, sites (situations) where this tool is used.
Can anyone tell me more?
