I downloaded Personal Oracle 7 from www.oracle.com. I did not install Win32s
that came with PO7 since I already have Version 1.25 running (PO7 version is
1.20). I'm installing on 486/50 16 meg memory and lots of disk space. I
have Windows for Workgroups 3.11 installed. I have two questions about the
install.
Q1) During the install I got a message stating that the oracle installer
sensed I didn't have enough memory and to continue at my own risk. I have 16
meg of memory with no other programs running at the time of install. I
noticed on this forum that others are seeing the same problem. Is this a
show stopper?? By the way, I continued.
Q2) Towards the end of the install process I got a message stating that the
installer could not start up the database. I got an error message in the log
file as follows:
ORA-09368: Windows 3.1 Two-task driver unable to spawn ORACLE
DBA-00302: not connected to a database
I could not find the ORA-09368 message in any documentation.
Any help on these two problems would be greatly appreciated.
