developing a business case to migrate off the mainfram

A co-worker is involved in developing a business case for migrating a database application from the mainframe to an Open Systems environment. (ie: Oracle on Unix) We need to look at costs and benefits.

Does anybody know of information available for building a business case for such a migration?
