I think that this is groundbreaking for the world of OLAP, and in particular for multidimensional database technology. The largest independent relational database vendor has explicitly endorsed multidimensional
database technology, and validated the customer requirement for OLAP. Oracle purchasing a multidimensional database company -- Who woulda thought...

What do you think ? Any comments on this announcement ?

(Note I work for a vendor of multidimensional databases and I am very interested to see if user and consultant opinions on this are similar.)
